Fertile Ground
FERTILE GROUND
A Canadian charity promoting organic growers in India
Filmed in northeast India, this short film tells the story of Fertile Ground, a Canadian charity supporting organic tea farmers in the state of Assam, in the northeast of India. It highlights the founding work of Peggy Carswell and explores the conditions that have led to the widespread use of pesticides across the region’s tea industry. The film also examines the efforts being made to educate and support growers in adopting alternative, sustainable farming methods.
