Daphne Charles

About Daphne

Daphne is a holistic architect, natural builder, and budding craftsperson. Fascinated by the psychology of space, she studied Architecture at the University of Melbourne, and the Royal Danish Institute of Fine Arts, graduating in 2006.

Recognizing the universal importance of harmony and balance — in body, mind, and environments — and seeing that our “inner” and “outer” worlds are different aspects of the same whole, living system, Daphne has since gone on to specialize in bioenergetics, holistic well-being, natural materials and low-energy, high-performance buildings.

An avid student of the natural world and ancient wisdom traditions, Daphne is confident in the profound knowledge they offer us — from human purpose and holistic well-being to the science of sacred spaces and living in harmony with nature and community. This governs her intuitive approach to design as she seeks to anchor these principles in her work.

She enjoys assisting her clients to resolve complex conceptual problems with life-affirming solutions and seeks in all her work to catalyze harmony between thought, action, and manifestation.

Daphne is cofounder of Earthville Institute in the US and heads the design and architecture faculty there and Dharmalaya Institute for Compassionate Living in the Indian Himalayas. She is a certified Passive House consultant (CPHD) and independent licensed Biogeometry Environmental Home Solutions Practitioner (BG-EGS).
